I picked up Kamen Rider for the Super Nintendo back in 1993, a game developed by Toei Company. It was one of those licensed titles that flew under the radar for a lot of people, but if you were into the show, it was a must-try. The SNES was packed with action games at the time, and this one aimed to bring the masked hero's fights to the small screen with some straightforward, side-scrolling brawling.

You control Kamen Rider, moving screen by screen to beat up waves of enemies from the Shocker organization. Your main goal is to clear each stage, defeat the boss, and move on. The combat relies on basic punches and kicks, but you can also perform a screen-clearing special attack once your meter is charged. The difficulty is pretty relentless; enemies come at you fast, and the platforming sections require careful jumps. It feels like a tough, no-nonsense arcade brawler that doesn’t pull any punches.
