Game Overview

King's Quest II: Romancing the Throne came out in 1987 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup from Sierra On-Line. It was one of those early graphical adventures that really defined the genre on home computers, relying on typed commands and a sense of discovery that felt fresh at the time.

You control King Graham, who must find a bride by collecting three magical items scattered across a fantasy world. The game plays screen by screen; you explore forests, castles, and caves, typing actions like "open door" or "give coin" to interact with characters and objects. The pacing is deliberate, and the puzzles can be obscure, often requiring trial and error or careful attention to environmental clues. It feels like piecing together a story where every wrong move might lead to a sudden, silly death.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
