Play Koenig der Loewen, Der - Simbas grosses Abenteuer (Germany) Online

You guide Simba through familiar Lion King moments—jumping hyenas, swinging vines—while that chiptune soundtrack somehow still hits. The platforming gets brutal fast, but landing those pixel-perfect jumps feels great.

Game Overview

Remember that scene in The Lion King where Simba bounds through the elephant graveyard? This Game Boy Color version lets you actually play through those moments—though fair warning, those hyenas are way more annoying when you're controlling the jumps yourself. The sprites are surprisingly vibrant for an 8-bit handheld, and that iconic "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" melody somehow still bops even in chiptune.

It's not the deepest platformer—some levels feel like they end just as you're getting into the rhythm—but there's something weirdly satisfying about nailing the timing on those vine swings as adult Simba. And yeah, the difficulty does that classic Game Boy thing where it lulls you into thinking it's easy, then suddenly demands pixel-perfect leaps over lava pits. Still, hearing the tiny roar sound effect when you beat a boss never gets old.

Basically, if you ever rented this from a video store as a kid or just want to see Rafiki rendered in four colors, it holds up better than most Disney tie-ins from the era.
