Game Overview
Legends Of The Diamond is an NES baseball game that feels like a time capsule—simple, a little janky, but oddly charming. You pick from 30 legends (only six pitchers, so expect some unbalanced lineups) and jump into either quick exhibition matches or a full tournament where the AI scrambles teams randomly.
The pitching view is behind the batter, which makes timing swings a bit awkward at first. Pitchers have three speeds—slow, medium, fast—but the difference isn’t huge. Fielding is manual, so expect some frustrating moments when your outfielders take weird routes to the ball.
You get two stadiums: old-school and modern. The classic one has shorter fences, so homers come easier, but otherwise they play the same. The tournament mode is where Legends Of The Diamond shines, even if the AI teams feel slapped together. It’s rough around the edges, but there’s something satisfying about seeing these legends square off in pixel form.
