Game Overview
Pokémon Diamond Sun and Moon is one of those fan-made NDS ROM hacks that mashes up the best bits of different Pokémon games—so you get Sinnoh’s region from Diamond, but with Alolan Pokémon from Sun and Moon thrown into the mix. At first, I thought it’d just be a reskin, but there’s actually some clever tweaks here, like wild encounters with Pokémon that normally wouldn’t show up in Sinnoh.
You’ll still do the usual gym battles and story stuff, but running into a Rowlet or Rockruff early on keeps things surprising. The sprites are a little rough in places (fan projects, y’know?), but if you’ve played the official games to death, this feels like stumbling onto a weird alternate version where someone shuffled all your favorite monsters around. Just don’t expect it to be as polished as Nintendo’s stuff—it’s more like a love letter from a super-dedicated fan.
