Play Les Manley in: Search for the King Online
You click through pixelated diners and weird motels as a sarcastic slacker hunting for Elvis, combining random junk like a rubber chicken and a ketchup packet to solve bizarre puzzles. The dialogue's dated but in a way that makes you laugh—when you're not stuck for an hour missing one dumb item.

Les Manley in: Search for the King came out in 1990 from Accolade, one of those MS-DOS adventure games that felt right at home alongside the parser-driven and early point-and-click titles of the era. It didn't try to be epic; it was just a weird, low-budget quest that knew exactly what it was.
You control Les, a nerdy guy tasked with finding Elvis Presley, who may or may not be alive. The game plays out screen by screen; you click to move Les around various American landmarks, talking to strange characters and picking up every object you can find. The main mechanics involve combining inventory items in illogical ways to solve puzzles, like using a bowling ball to mimic a crystal ball or a rubber chicken for... well, you figure it out. The pacing is slow, and the difficulty is unforgiving, often hinging on missing one tiny, nonsensical interaction. It feels like digging through a junk drawer, occasionally striking comedy gold but mostly just getting frustrated.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
