Play Little Red Hood - Xiao Hong Mao (Asia) (Unl) (Sachen) (Famicom) Online

Little Red Hood tosses magic at wolves while jumping through janky forests—it's clunky but weirdly charming, like a bootleg fairy tale come to life. That chiptune soundtrack sticks in your head, too.

Game Overview

Little Red Hood, known as Xiao Hong Mao in its Asian release, is an unlicensed NES title developed by Sachen. It never saw an official Nintendo release, existing instead as part of that gray market of Famicom cartridges that circulated in certain regions. The game takes the familiar fairy tale and adapts it into a simple, straightforward action platformer typical of many lower-budget efforts from that era.

You control Little Red Hood herself, moving screen by screen through a forest, throwing magic projectiles at wolves and other enemies that block your path. The main goal is to reach your grandmother's house, navigating platforms and avoiding environmental hazards along the way. The pacing is deliberate, and the controls can feel a bit stiff, which adds to the challenge. It’s a short, unpolished experience, but there’s a peculiar sincerity in its attempt to turn a brief story into an interactive journey.
