Game Overview

Hong Gildong-jeon 2 is one of those MS-DOS games that somehow feels both clunky and incredibly satisfying at the same time. You play as Hong Gildong, Korea’s answer to Robin Hood, except instead of a bow, you’ve got fists, swords, and a knack for jumping at just the wrong moment. The controls take a minute to get used to—expect a few accidental leaps into pits early on—but once it clicks, there’s something weirdly addictive about kicking your way through waves of enemies.

The pixel art has that grainy, slightly-too-bright charm of early '90s DOS games, and the levels are just tricky enough to make you groan when you mess up (which you will). Some sections feel like they were designed to test your patience, but beating them gives you that old-school rush of "finally, take that!" It’s not the deepest game, but it’s got personality—and honestly, that counts for a lot.

If you’re into retro action-platformers, this is a solid way to kill an afternoon. Just don’t blame me when you start humming the soundtrack.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
