You control groups of LocoRoco, round, singing creatures, by tilting the environment with the shoulder buttons to roll them left or right. Your main goal is to guide them through each level, avoiding hazards, gathering friends, and clearing away a poisonous substance called Muri by having enough LocoRoco touch it. You can split your blob into smaller pieces to fit through narrow gaps, or combine them to gain weight and momentum. The game moves at a relaxed pace, with light platforming and simple puzzles, though some later stages require careful timing. It feels happy and silly in a way that’s hard not to smile at.
