Game Overview

LocoRoco came out on the PlayStation Portable in 2006, developed by Japan Studio and published by Sony. It was one of those games that felt perfectly suited to the PSP, something bright and simple you could pick up between other things, a nice break from more serious titles.

You don't control the LocoRoco directly; you tilt the entire world left and right using the shoulder buttons to make them roll. The goal is to guide your cheerful, bouncy blob through each level, collecting berries to make it bigger and searching for hidden Mui Mui creatures. You can also press both shoulder buttons to make the LocoRoco jump, and split a large one into smaller pieces to fit through narrow passages or solve simple puzzles. The pacing is relaxed, the difficulty gentle, and it feels like guiding a happy, singing ball of joy through a cheerful little world.
