Game Overview

Lost in Time came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Coktel Vision. It was a point-and-click adventure from that era when CD-ROM drives were becoming more common, and games were experimenting with full motion video to tell bigger stories. You play as a young man named Zak, who gets pulled through a magical hourglass and has to find his way back home.

You control Zak directly, clicking to move him through pre-rendered environments across different historical periods, from ancient Egypt to medieval castles. The main objective is to solve inventory-based puzzles to progress, often by finding and combining items in ways that don't always make immediate sense. The game uses a verb coin interface for interactions, and you explore screen by screen, talking to characters and picking up objects. The pacing is slow, and some puzzles are notoriously obscure, requiring a lot of trial and error. It feels like piecing together a strange, disjointed dream where every solution is just out of reach until you stumble on it.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
