Game Overview

If you grew up with the Lucky Luke comics, this SNES game is a blast of nostalgia. You play as the lanky cowboy himself, tracking down the bumbling Dalton brothers across classic Wild West settings—dusty towns, rickety mines, even a haunted saloon. The first level throws you right into it: dodging bullets, jumping over barrels, and rescuing a bank director while outlaws take potshots at you.

What I love is how it mixes things up. One minute you're sneaking through a jail, the next you're racing Jolly Jumper across the plains or desperately steering a raft away from rocks. The Dalton brothers pop up as goofy boss fights (Averell’s hilariously slow punches are easy to dodge… until his brothers gang up on you). And those weird little side tasks—like bargaining with a miner for nitroglycerin or assembling a totem pole—keep it from feeling like just another shoot-em-up.

Fair warning: the controls take some getting used to. Ducking feels stiff, and climbing ladders is oddly finicky. But once you adjust, it’s pure cowboy chaos, complete with dynamite throws and revolver showdowns. The pixel art nails the comic’s style, especially Luke’s exaggerated swagger after clearing a level. Just don’t forget to write down those passwords—some of those later stages are brutal.
