Mad Mix came out in 1988 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Topo Soft. It was a time when simple, screen-by-screen arcade-style games were common on home computers, and this one fit right in with its straightforward, maze-based action.
You control a small character navigating a series of single-screen labyrinths, avoiding enemies while collecting items to advance. The main objective is to clear each stage by gathering all required objects before moving on, with power-ups occasionally letting you turn the tables and hunt the enemies instead. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty ramps up steadily as maze layouts grow more complex and enemy patterns less predictable. It feels like a tense, sometimes frantic race against the screen.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
