Game Overview

I first played Magic Garden, The on the Amiga back in 1992. It was developed by a team at Thalion Software, and it fit right in with the kind of thoughtful, visually rich games the platform was known for at the time. You don't see many games like it now; it had a quiet, deliberate pace that felt different from the more action-heavy titles.

You control a young gardener tasked with restoring a neglected, enchanted garden. The main goal is to solve environmental puzzles by planting and growing specific magical flora, which in turn affects the creatures and obstacles around you. You explore the garden screen by screen, using seeds you collect to trigger changes, like growing a vine to climb or a flower that lures a helpful animal. The puzzles require patience and observation, and the difficulty comes from figuring out the right plant for each situation, not from quick reflexes. It feels like slowly bringing a beautiful, sleeping place back to life with your own hands.
