Play Magnetic Online
Navigate a magnet through puzzles, sliding blocks to clear paths and reach the exit while planning your moves carefully in this MS-DOS classic.
Magnetic was part of the 0 MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release that bundled various titles from the platform's early era. It was developed by David Snider and published as shareware, a common model for distributing games at the time. This puzzle game fits right in with the kind of thoughtful, minimalist software that thrived on DOS before elaborate graphics became the standard.
You control a magnet, represented by a simple character, navigating through screen based puzzles. Your main objective is to reach the exit in each level, but the path is blocked by movable blocks that are either attracted or repelled by your magnet. The core mechanics involve sliding these blocks around; you can pull them toward you or push them away to clear a route or create bridges. The difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding careful planning since a single misplaced block can make a level unsolvable, forcing a restart. It feels like a tense game of spatial chess where every move has immediate and permanent consequences.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
