Mario Destroyer is this weirdly satisfying Flash game where Mario ditches the platforming and hops into a fighter jet instead. You start off with basic shots, but enemies drop these floating power-ups that make your weapons absolutely ridiculous, like screen-filling lasers or homing missiles. The bombs are a lifesaver when things get chaotic (and they will get chaotic).
First level’s easy, but by world 3, you’re dodging bullet-hell patterns while trying to scoop up upgrades. Boss fights are pure spectacle, one’s a giant airship that fills half the screen. Six worlds might not sound like much, but good luck clearing the last one without sweating. Feels like someone mashed up Mario and an arcade shooter, and somehow it works.
