Game Overview
Mario Party 4 is that classic GameCube chaos where you and your friends pretend to be civil before inevitably backstabbing each other over stars. You’ve got five main boards (plus a sneaky sixth one to unlock), each with their own weird gimmicks—like one where Bowser messes with the map every few turns. The mini-games are the real stars though, from frantic button-mashing to weirdly strategic ones where you’re suddenly balancing plates or dodging giant dice.
What I love is how the game keeps shifting alliances. One minute you’re teaming up in a 2v2 mini-game, the next you’re all scrambling to not be the lone loser in a free-for-all. And yeah, the AI in Story Mode can be brutal—don’t expect mercy from Toad. If you’ve got three friends and a grudge, this is the perfect way to settle it without actually throwing controllers.
Just remember: never trust the guy who “accidentally” lands on the Chance Time space.
