Mario's Time Machine came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by The Software Toolworks. It was part of that wave of educational games that tried to mix learning with familiar characters, a common approach on the SNES at the time.
You control Mario, and your goal is to return famous historical artifacts Bowser has stolen to their correct time periods. The gameplay involves screen by screen exploration across different eras, collecting items and information, and solving simple puzzles by talking to historical figures. The pacing is slow, and the difficulty comes more from figuring out where things belong than from any action. It feels like a strange, quiet museum tour where you occasionally have to jump on a koopa.
