Game Overview
Mario and Sonic finally go head-to-head in this DS Olympics mashup, and it's way more chaotic than you'd expect. One minute you're frantically swiping the touchscreen to sprint as Sonic, the next you're trying not to faceplant as Wario in the hammer throw. The events are simple but surprisingly physical—I nearly dropped my DS the first time I got too into the archery minigame.
What really makes it work is how each character feels different. Bowser's a tank in weightlifting but hilariously bad at gymnastics, while Tails somehow nails the swimming events. The multiplayer's where it shines though—nothing beats watching your friend completely botch a pole vault with Luigi.
It's not the deepest sports sim, but for quick bursts of ridiculous competition, it holds up better than you'd think.
