Mario Star Scramble 2 feels like someone mashed up the best bits of Super Mario and Mario World into a short but surprisingly fun little Flash game. Yeah, it’s not super long, but there’s some weirdly creative stuff in here—like levels that twist the usual Mario formula just enough to keep you on your toes.
You’re still collecting stars (or "shine sprites," whatever those are) and stomping on Goombas, but some of the stage gimmicks actually caught me off guard. And of course, Bowser’s up to no good again, so it’s your job to kick his shell and save the Mushroom Kingdom. Controls are simple: WASD to move, space or Z to jump—classic Flash game setup.
It’s not gonna replace the big Mario titles, but for a quick nostalgia trip with some neat surprises, it’s a solid way to kill half an hour.
