Mario War is one of those old-school Flash games that somehow makes plumbers with guns feel completely normal. You play as Mario (or Luigi if you’ve got a buddy), blasting through waves of enemies, 20 per level, 10 levels total. The twist? You’ve got to protect your base at all costs. Lose that, and it’s game over, no matter how many goombas you’ve stomped.
At first, I just ran around shooting everything, but then I realized those glowing enemies drop power-ups. Trust me, you’ll want those. The controls are simple, but the chaos ramps up fast, especially when the screen starts filling up with enemies. It’s got that classic arcade feel where one mistake can ruin everything, but you’ll keep hitting restart anyway.
Not the deepest game, but perfect for a quick, chaotic session when you miss the early 2000s internet.
