Game Overview
MarioVania (Castlevania 3 Hack) is exactly what it sounds like—Mario in a Castlevania-style world, complete with whips, skeletons, and those damn Medusa heads. The first few screens feel familiar, but then you realize you're jumping gaps with Mario's floaty physics while dodging projectiles meant for Belmonts.
It's weirdly satisfying to see Mario whip candles for hearts instead of hitting blocks. The level design forces you to backtrack sometimes, but not in a way that feels punishing. The music is still Castlevania 3's, which fits better than you'd expect.
Some jumps feel awkward with Mario's momentum, and the collision can be janky in tight spaces. But if you're into romhacks that mash up two very different games, MarioVania (Castlevania 3 Hack) nails the vibe.
