Play Master of Magic Online
Pick a wizard, grab some spells, and try not to get wrecked as you claw your way from one sad city to ruling two whole planes—if the monsters and rival mages don’t flatten you first.

Master of Magic came out in 1994 for MS-DOS, developed by Simtex and published by MicroProse. It was part of that wave of deep, complex strategy games that demanded a lot from your PC and your patience, sitting comfortably alongside titles like Civilization but with a heavy fantasy twist.
You control a wizard, building cities, raising armies, and researching spells across two overlapping worlds. The main goal is to eliminate all rival spellcasters through conquest or powerful magic. Key mechanics include tactical, turn-based combat with customizable units and a deep spell system where you can alter terrain, summon creatures, or directly assault enemy fortresses. The game is notoriously difficult, with AI opponents that expand aggressively and legendary monsters guarding valuable locations. It feels like a constant, rewarding struggle where every new city secured or rare spell discovered tips the scales in your favor.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
