Game Overview

Master of Magic came out in 1994 for MS-DOS, developed and published by MicroProse. It was one of those deep, turn-based strategy games that felt right at home on a PC, demanding a lot of time and attention from players who enjoyed complex systems and fantasy settings.

You control a wizard attempting to conquer two linked worlds, building cities, managing resources, researching spells, and raising armies to defeat rival spellcasters. Key mechanics include tactical combat on a separate hex grid, customizing your wizard with specific spellbooks and traits at the start, and exploring the world to find powerful magical sites. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty can be punishing if you fall behind in expansion or research. It feels deeply strategic and absorbing, with every decision carrying weight from the first turn to the last.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
