MegaRace 2 was released in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Cryo Interactive. It arrived during a period when CD-ROM technology was pushing the boundaries of what PC games could deliver, especially in terms of full-motion video and voiced characters. The game stood out for its blend of racing and combat, wrapped in a kitschy, futuristic game show aesthetic hosted by the smarmy Lance Boyle.

You control a hovercar equipped with an array of weapons, racing through linear tracks against aggressive AI opponents. The main objective is to survive each race, destroy rival vehicles, and avoid obstacles to progress. Signature mechanics include collecting power-ups for temporary shields or weapon upgrades, managing limited ammunition for your primary guns, and reacting to Lance's taunts which sometimes affect gameplay. The pacing is fast and unforgiving; one mistake can lead to a wreck, forcing a restart. It feels chaotic and tense, like trying to win a deadly game show where the host is actively rooting against you.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
