Game Overview

Metal Rage: Defender of the Earth came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed and published by Titus France SA. It was one of those mid-90s titles that tried to blend action with a bit of tactical thinking, typical of the era when developers experimented with mixing genres. The game puts you in control of a powerful tank tasked with defending Earth from an alien invasion.

You maneuver your tank through destructible urban environments, engaging enemy forces in both a first-person cockpit view and an optional overhead perspective. Your main goal is to eliminate all hostile units in each sector while protecting key structures from total annihilation. The gameplay involves careful resource management, as you collect power-ups and ammunition scattered throughout the maps, and strategic positioning to avoid being overwhelmed. The pacing is intense, with waves of enemies requiring quick reflexes and situational awareness. It feels gritty and demanding, a test of both aggression and patience as you blast through each challenging stage.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
