Millennium Winter Sports is one of those classic Game Boy Color games that makes your thumbs ache in the best way. You’ve got eight winter events to tackle—some are pure button-mashing madness (looking at you, speed skating), while others, like the half-pipe snowboarding, need actual timing to nail the tricks. It’s got that same chaotic energy as Konami’s old Track & Field games, just with way more snow.

You can either go all-in with the Championship Mode, where you power through every event back-to-back, or just pick your favorite and try to beat your own records. The bobsled feels weirdly intense for a pixelated GBC game, and the skiing events? Surprisingly satisfying once you get the rhythm down. It’s not the deepest sports sim, but it’s got that addictive, quick-play vibe perfect for short bursts. Just don’t blame me when you start yelling at your screen during the final downhill run.
