Mortal Kombat 4 on Game Boy Color is… well, it’s Mortal Kombat, but crammed into a tiny screen with all the blood and fatalities intact. They tried bringing the 3D fights from the arcade version to this little handheld, and honestly? It’s janky but weirdly charming. You’ve got your usual roster of fighters, plus a few new faces, and yeah—you can smack people with weapons now, which feels both ridiculous and awesome.
The sprites are chunky, the controls take some getting used to, and the fatalities are pixelated nightmares (in a good way). It’s not the prettiest version of MK4, but if you’re stuck on a long car ride and need to rip out someone’s spine, this’ll do the job.
