Game Overview

Mutant Virus is one of those weird little NES games that somehow turns a computer virus outbreak into a frantic puzzle showdown. You're basically playing digital janitor—except instead of mopping floors, you're blasting these multiplying neon blobs before they take over the screen. At first it feels like a color-matching game, but then the viruses start splitting faster, and suddenly you're sweating.

The two-player mode is where it really shines. My brother and I used to trash-talk each other while scrambling to clear our sides, and the soundtrack's constant bleeps still haunt me in the best way. It's got that perfect '80s mix of simple mechanics and "oh crap" panic when the board starts filling up. Definitely more fun than it has any right to be.

If you dig obscure NES puzzlers, this one's a trip—just don't expect to walk away without humming the music for days.
