MySims Racing came out on the Nintendo DS in 2009, published by Electronic Arts. You control a custom character, building their look from a selection of oddball parts, and then race them on twisty, themed tracks against other quirky opponents. The main goal is to win cups and unlock new parts and courses. Your main tools are power-ups, like a rubber duck projectile or a garden gnome trap, which you use to disrupt other racers. The driving itself is floaty, with an emphasis on drifting around every corner to maintain speed. It's not a difficult game; the challenge comes from managing the item chaos more than perfecting your racing line. The whole experience feels like a silly, lighthearted party that just happens to be on your DS.
