Mystic Towers came out in 1994 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, published by Apogee Software. It was a time when many developers experimented with mixing genres, and this one stood out for its unusual blend of action and puzzle elements within a fantasy setting.

You control Baron Baldric, an elderly wizard tasked with climbing a massive tower to rescue a prince. Each floor is a single screen you must clear by defeating enemies and solving environmental puzzles. Your main tools are a limited-use sword and a variety of magic spells, but survival depends heavily on managing your health; you must find and consume food and drink scattered about, though some items are poisoned and will harm you. The pacing is deliberate, almost tense, as monsters respawn if you don't destroy the crystal generator hidden on each level. It feels like a careful, methodical scramble where every decision carries weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
