Play Naruto: Ninja Destiny Online

Pick a ninja, dash around flinging kunai, then suddenly the screen explodes with a ridiculous jutsu—that’s Naruto on DS. The touchscreen throws random power-ups into fights, so you never know if you’ll heal or freeze your opponent mid-combo.

Game Overview

Naruto: Ninja Destiny on DS is exactly what you'd want from a portable Naruto fighter—fast, flashy, and packed with jutsu spam. You pick your favorite character (I always default to Gaara), and within seconds you're throwing kunai, teleporting behind enemies, and triggering over-the-top special moves that fill both screens with explosions. The chakra system keeps things balanced—you can't just spam Rasengans endlessly, which makes fights feel tactical despite the chaos.

What surprised me was how much the touchscreen power-ups change fights. Mid-battle, you might tap a random icon that freezes your opponent's chakra or heals you—it adds this weird, unpredictable layer to matches. Unlocking characters feels rewarding too, since you've got to survive gauntlets of AI battles to earn them. Just a heads-up: the European version cuts some story content and voice lines, so if you care about that, maybe hunt down the US copy instead.

It's not the deepest fighter, but nailing a perfect substitution jutsu at the last second never gets old.
