Remember when handheld basketball games were actually fun? NBA 3 on 3 with Kobe Bryant on Game Boy Color nails that old-school arcade feel. You get all the teams and players from the '99-2000 season, which means young Kobe, Shaq, Vince Carter in his prime—the whole crew.

The isometric view takes some getting used to at first (kinda like NBA Live back in the day), but once you adjust, it’s surprisingly smooth. You can run full seasons, playoffs, or just quick matches with custom rules—I always cranked the quarter length down for faster games between classes.

Create-a-player lets you add yourself to the roster (obviously I made myself a 7-foot point guard), and there’s even trades if you want to rebuild your team. The 2-player mode is where it really shines though—nothing like schooling your friend with a last-second alley-oop.

It’s not perfect—subbing players mid-game feels clunky—but for a pocket-sized NBA fix, it holds up way better than it should.
