The main goal is to guide all the rats in a room into a crusher or similar device before moving to the next stage. You have to avoid enemies like aggressive rats and hazards such as electric floors, and sometimes use items like popcorn to lure rodents into position. The pacing is methodical, and some screens require precise timing, making it trickier than it first appears.
