I picked up The Simpsons: Bart vs the Juggernauts for Game Boy back in 1992, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was one of those licensed games that felt pretty common on the handheld at the time, trying to capture the show's humor in a simple action format. You play as Bart Simpson, and the premise is that he's been forced to compete on a brutal game show run by Sideshow Bob, which is just an excuse to run through various Springfield locations filled with hazards.

You control Bart through side scrolling levels, jumping over obstacles and throwing slingshots at enemies like bullies or giant Krusty dolls. The main goal is to beat each stage's "Juggernaut" boss, like fighting Nelson in a basketball mini game or avoiding Moe's thrown wrenches. The game uses a lives system, and the difficulty spikes quickly, especially with some awkward platforming and enemy patterns. It feels a little stiff and repetitive after a while, but there's a certain charm in seeing the familiar characters, even if the controls don't always cooperate.
