Play NetWars Online
You're a glowing cursor sneaking through corporate mainframes, dropping logic bombs while virus blips chase you—all to the soundtrack of angry beeps and exploding pixels.

NetWars came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Novell. It was a product of its time, when network security was becoming a tangible concern and games were starting to explore digital themes. You play as a user inside a computer system, tasked with defending it from various attacks.
You control a cursor that moves through a grid-based network, defending nodes from viruses and other intruders. The main objective is to protect the system by eliminating threats before they overwhelm your resources. Signature mechanics include placing logic bombs to destroy incoming enemies and managing your limited energy to sustain your defenses. The pacing is relentless, with waves of attacks increasing in complexity, making careful planning essential. It feels like a tense, high-stakes puzzle where every move counts.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
