Pick SpongeBob or Tommy Pickles, then drift through tiny top-down tracks packed with show references—dodge logs, slide on milk spills, and try not to crash into Reptar’s footprints.

Game Overview
Nicktoons Racing on the Game Boy Color is basically a tiny, top-down version of the console kart racer—but honestly, it’s got its own weird charm. You pick from Nickelodeon’s weirdest lineup (SpongeBob, CatDog, the Angry Beavers, and… Tommy Pickles in a race car?) and then zoom through tracks themed around their shows. The controls take a second to get used to since it’s not the usual behind-the-kart view, but once you figure out the drifting, it’s surprisingly fun.
There are only four tracks, but each one’s packed with little details from the shows—like dodging logs in the Beavers’ forest or avoiding Reptar’s footprints in the Rugrats stage. The power-ups are goofy but useful: a stop sign freezes rivals mid-race, and a milk bottle makes them slide all over the place. Championship mode forces you to grind through every track in order, but quick race is where I spent most of my time, just replaying the SpongeBob track to hear that tiny GBC rendition of the theme song.
It’s janky, it’s short, and the AI rubberbands like crazy, but there’s something oddly satisfying about beating Norbert with a last-second wrapped-package power-up.
