Game Overview

Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix on the Amiga is one of those racers that makes you work for it. You don’t just jump in and floor it—first, you’ve got to qualify, and if your laps aren’t fast enough, tough luck. No grid for you. The cockpit view feels surprisingly detailed for the time, with the track stretching out ahead and your dashboard actually mattering.

Turbo boosts are your best friend and worst enemy. Slam it for a quick overtake, but do it too much and your engine starts groaning like it’s about to give up. And yeah, pit stops are a thing, but don’t expect to refuel—just like real F1 back then, it’s all about fresh tires. The races can be brutal if you go full length, but at least you can save your progress mid-season (thank god).

It’s not a pick-up-and-play arcade racer—more like a love letter to ’90s F1 nerds who don’t mind sweating the details.
