Ninja Gaiden 3 kicks off with this wild intro—you're Ryu Hayabusa, but someone's out there framing you for murder. The game wastes no time: within minutes, you're chasing a CIA agent off a cliff (accidentally, I swear), slicing through robots, and getting cryptic warnings from shady characters. The Mantis Warrior boss fight is brutal—that flamethrower still gives me nightmares—but once you nail the timing, it feels so good.
What I love about this one is how it leans into the conspiracy angle. You’re not just hacking through enemies; you’re unraveling why someone’s impersonating you, dodging traps, and getting sent to sketchy fortresses. The movement’s slick, though good luck surviving some of those jumps on your first try. It’s classic NES tough, but in a way that makes you want to master it.
