Game Overview
Ninja Gaiden II picks up right where the first game left off—except now there’s a new bad guy, Ashtar, trying to finish what Jaquio started. Ryu’s back with his sword, and this time he’s got some slick new moves, like clinging to walls and climbing them (which, honestly, should’ve been in the first game).
The real game-changer? The shadow clones. Grab a power-up, and suddenly you’ve got one (or even two) copies of Ryu mirroring your every move, slashing and throwing stars in perfect sync. It feels ridiculously cool when you’re juggling enemies between all three of you.
They didn’t skimp on the atmosphere, either. One level throws you into a blizzard where the wind actually pushes you around, and another has lightning flashes lighting up pitch-black ruins. And yeah, there are still those dramatic cutscenes between levels—because what’s Ninja Gaiden without a little over-the-top ninja drama?
