Outlander on SNES is basically Mad Max: The Video Game—if Mad Max had a shotgun and way more roadside brawls. You start off in your tricked-out car, speeding through the wasteland while motorcycle gangs try to run you off the road. The machine gun mounted on your hood helps, but things get really fun when some lunatic pulls up beside you and that little window pops open—time to blast them point-blank with your shotgun.
Gas runs out fast, so you’ll have to stop in these sketchy towns to refuel. That’s when the game flips to side-scrolling mode, and suddenly you’re fist-fighting bandits in the dirt. The towns are also where you find upgrades like missile launchers (because why not) and nitro boosts for when you really need to leave trouble behind. Just don’t get too comfortable—that alarm blaring means another gang’s rolling in.
It’s chaotic, a little janky, and exactly what you’d want from a post-apocalyptic SNES game.
