Game Overview

Outlaw 97 is that kind of MS-DOS game where you boot it up and within seconds you're already shooting—no tutorials, no hand-holding, just you, a pixelated revolver, and a whole lot of bad guys who didn’t get the memo about not messing with you. The top-down view makes it feel like some lost arcade cabinet from 1993, and the weapons have this satisfying thunk to them, especially the shotgun.

It’s not fancy, but that’s the point. You duck behind crates, dodge bullets in tight corridors, and occasionally panic when three enemies spawn at once. The shareware version gives you just enough to get hooked—then cuts you off right when you’re craving the full game’s bigger maps and weirder guns. Perfect for when you want something loud, dumb, and weirdly charming.

Also, the cowboy sprite totally looks like he’s squinting in disapproval at everything. Classic.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
