Over the Hedge for the Game Boy Advance came out in 2006, published by Activision. It was one of those licensed games that showed up a lot on the handheld, based on the animated movie of the same year. The GBA was still going strong at that point, and this was a typical example of a tie-in platformer trying to capture some of the film's humor and energy.

You control RJ the raccoon and Verne the turtle, switching between them to use their unique skills. RJ is quick and can climb vines, while Verne hides in his shell to smash through barriers. The goal is to gather food and supplies from suburban backyards, avoiding humans, guard dogs, and automated sprinklers. You move screen by screen, solving simple environmental puzzles and collecting items, with a light emphasis on stealth. The pacing is straightforward, and the difficulty stays manageable, making it an easy game to pick up and play in short sessions. It feels like a relaxed, low-stakes adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously.
