Play Over the Hedge Online

You sneak through backyards as RJ and Verne, swiping candy while dodging pets—that little dog still gives me anxiety. Upgrade your hideout with dumb stuff between heists, because raccoons clearly need neon signs.

Game Overview

Over the Hedge on the Game Boy Advance came out in 2006, published by Activision. It was one of those licensed games that showed up everywhere during the handheld's later years, based on the animated movie about animals raiding suburbia. You control RJ the raccoon and Verne the turtle, leading a crew of critters through a series of human neighborhoods.

You move screen by screen, avoiding watchdogs and lawn sprinklers while gathering food items to stockpile. Each character has a special skill; RJ can climb vines and use a slingshot, while Verne rolls into his shell to break obstacles. The goal is to collect enough food before the timer runs out, and between stages you use your loot to buy silly upgrades for your home base. The game keeps a steady pace, though some guard dogs require quick timing to sneak past. It feels like a light, mischievous puzzle where every successful grab is a small victory.
