Over the Hedge for the Game Boy Advance came out in 2006, developed by Vicarious Visions. It was one of those licensed platformers that showed up a lot on the GBA, based on the animated movie of the same name. You guide a group of animals through a series of suburban obstacles, trying to gather food while avoiding humans and hazards.

You control RJ the raccoon, along with a few other animals like a hyper squirrel and a sturdy turtle. Your goal is to collect enough food in each stage to progress, while dealing with patrols, security systems, and angry homeowners. The game uses screen by screen exploration, with each character having unique movement and attack abilities; for example, the squirrel can dash quickly, and the turtle can withstand more damage. You also pick up and throw items like trash cans or fruit to disable lights or stun enemies. The pacing is fairly brisk, though some sections can feel repetitive. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes challenging scavenger hunt with a lighthearted tone.
