Play Pac'n Roll (J) Online
Roll Pac-Man through isometric mazes, collect pellets, avoid ghosts, and master tilt controls to reach each exit in this unique twist on the classic formula.
Pac'n Roll came out for the Nintendo DS in 2005, developed by Namco. It was part of that early wave of DS games that really tried to use the touch screen and system features in new ways, even if the results were sometimes a little odd. This one leaned into the tilt controls, which felt pretty fresh at the time, even if it meant you had to hold your system at a certain angle to make it work properly.
You control Pac-Man, but he's been turned into a ball, and you roll him through a series of isometric maze levels by physically tilting the DS. Your main goal is to reach the exit in each stage, but you also need to collect pellets and avoid ghosts, just like in the original. The signature mechanics are all about momentum; you can pick up power pellets to temporarily squash ghosts flat, and you use speed boosts and ramps to jump over gaps or reach higher platforms. The pacing is generally steady, though some later stages demand precise tilting to avoid falling off edges or getting caught. It feels like a strange but clever twist on the classic formula, turning frantic chases into a more deliberate game of balance and angles.
