Game Overview

Pack Rat is this weird little DOS platformer from '92 where you play as, well, a rat. You’re basically just scurrying around grabbing coins and cheese wedges while trying not to fall into water or get zapped by light bulbs—which, yeah, sounds easy until you realize rats aren’t exactly Olympic athletes. The controls are kinda janky in that classic early-90s way, but it grows on you.

There’s a two-player hot seat mode if you’ve got a friend willing to suffer through it with you, and even a level editor if you’re feeling creative (though good luck making anything decent with those blocky tools). Only downside? No save feature, so you’re committing to the full rat grind in one sitting. It’s charming in a "this would never get made today" sort of way.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
