Game Overview

Pacman Bros (SMB1 Hack) is exactly what it sounds like—a weird but fun mashup of Mario platforming and Pac-Man’s maze-chase gameplay. You still run and jump like in the original, but now you’re dodging ghosts instead of Goombas, and the levels twist into these tight, maze-like corridors.

At first, it feels familiar, but then you hit a section where the screen locks into a Pac-Man-style grid, and suddenly you’re scrambling to grab pellets while avoiding Blinky and friends. The controls are still Mario’s, so it’s a little stiff for dodging ghosts, but that just makes it more tense.

Some of the later levels get brutal, with narrow paths and ghosts that corner you fast. It’s not perfect, but if you like weird retro hacks, Pacman Bros (SMB1 Hack) is worth a try.
