Game Overview

Paganitzu came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Apogee Software. It was a shareware title from that era where you downloaded the first chunk of a game for free, and if you liked it, you mailed in a check for the rest. It fit right in with other puzzle-adventures of the time, offering a straightforward, screen-by-screen challenge without a lot of flashy graphics or story.

You control an explorer delving into ancient temples, and your goal is simply to collect all the treasure chests on each level to unlock the exit. The core of the game is pushing blocks to bridge gaps or trigger pressure plates, all while avoiding an assortment of traps like false floors that collapse under you and enemies that only move when you do. The puzzles start simple but quickly demand careful planning, as one wrong push can make a level impossible to complete, forcing a restart. It feels like a quiet, methodical test of your patience and foresight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
