Game Overview

Paratrooper came out in 1982 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Greg Kuperberg. It was one of those early PC games that felt right at home on the platform, simple in concept but demanding in execution, a common trait for the era.

You control a stationary gun turret at the bottom of the screen, tasked with shooting paratroopers descending from parachutes before they land. The main objective is to survive wave after wave of enemies, with each soldier you miss reducing your limited number of bases. Signature mechanics include leading your shots to hit moving targets and the increasing speed and density of paratroopers as you progress. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, making every shot count. It feels like a tense, frantic battle against an inevitable tide.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
